Marwan Ali - ACTFL Arabic Instructor & Translator

Introduction: Marwan brings over 10 years of expertise in teaching and translating Arabic to English speakers. He has studied and excelled in the art of translation in his academic and postgraduate career. Marwan is also a self-taught trilingual who has been exposed to different languages, backgrounds and is familiar with the mental process of acquiring a new language. Marwan is a huge fan of using unconventional methods in teaching Arabic, considering how difficult of a language it is to English speakers who are not familiar to the grammar system and vowels. Marwan holds a Superior level certificate from the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. He has worked with adults of all ages and levels of proficiency and with an analytical eye he focuses on areas of weakness to improve the overall understanding and command of the language. Marwan has been immersed in the American culture from a young age and with American expats in Cairo, Egypt as well. He enjoys broadening the student's perception of the language by explaining the culture and history behind it. Marwan is one of the very few people who also believe in the power of music in teaching Arabic. He utilizes songs and Arab pop culture references to expedite the learning process and make it easier and more fun.
