Introduction: My work often has a fun and colorful look. I especially love developing characters, whether it be for book illustration or toy design. The facial features and body language says so much. I also find that in my toy design business the one thing that sets me apart from the rest seems to be that I actually make prototypes of soft toys. This is a huge benefit to the client, it's like one stop shopping. The other advantage I have is that I have experience in prints/textile design meaning that if my client wants to design a line of dolls I can also design the prints or patterns that might be printed on the doll clothing. I have a variety of skills and talents and that's probably my most unique attribute.
I am an experienced artist, illustrator and toy designer and so much more. My 15+ year career has given me the opportunity to work on a wide array of projects with so many different kinds of companies and people. I absolutely love being creative in any way and love that I get to use my creative mind and talent to make a living. You may have seen my children or pet toys in stores such as Target, Carter's, Toys R Us, Walmart, Family Dollar, Petsmart, Pet Goods and so many more. I have been designing toys for 7 years and still look forward to my next assignment with so much excitement. I love to draw and paint, as my foundation is in fine arts but I also completely enjoy creating vector images in Adobe Illustrator. Using a variety of materials and mediums is what keeps me happy. I have had several children's books published and my art has also been used in textiles, diaper bags, bibs as well as home decor products. Other than the previously mentioned skills I also make prototypes, do costume design, have experience in cake decorating and party planning and decorating. Give me a creative task and I will do an amazing job for you. I always strive for perfection and believe that loving what you do and having fun while you work is the key to producing the highest quality work. I am extremely thankful to have found Kathy Voerg to develop and design my toy prototype. Kathy is a superb combination of qualities and I list them in no particular order since all are equally noteworthy. My first impression is intrinsic honesty, the old-fashioned integrity which precludes any compromise. Kathy is exceptionally creative, and she was able to successfully translate/convert my idea onto paper and ultimately into 3D. She is very responsible and competent. Anything I ever requested of Kathy was ably and promptly accomplished. No follow-up on my part was ever needed. Her design process has set fees and there are no hidden costs - a pleasant surprise given my experiences with some very dubious characters in the plush toy industry! Personally, Kathy is a warm, patient, good-humored individual and every interaction I have had with her has been pleasant. I recommend her without reservation she is simply that good!

Kathy worked with our company, CharlieDog and Friends, to design our inaugural line of plush pets (17" stuffed dogs and cats based on real-life animal rescues), and it went so well, we hired her to design our other lines (Pocket Pitties).
There are no surprises with Kathy. She has a unique vision and is familiar with how small changes in design can affect cost. Her pricing is fair and consistent, and we were extremely happy with her work and value.
More than that, though, Kathy's work is truly original. She's able to listen to your requirements and deliver both a perfect representation of what you have in mind, as well as an "out of the box" suggestion for a direction you may not have considered.
Kathy's fun. She has a great sense of humor, is a real pleasure to spend time with when you're working on a project or just brainstorming. Her design work is definitely her own, and her enthusiasm is just infectious. Highly recommended by CharlieDog and Friends.

Kathy is a really wonderful illustrator and prototyper. Her aesthetic is truly joyful, her cut and sew work is meticulous, and she has a broad range of capabilities that qualify her to bring conceptual ideas to life. She is really easy and fun to work with and always turns projects around quickly.
