We met Colene Smith on January 24, 2021. We had started out with another realtor, but then we were referred to Colene because she was able to show us more houses in different parts of NJ. From the beginning, we saw a huge difference in style from Colene to the previous realtor. Colene was so responsive. On day 2, she sent us a list of houses to look at and made appointments to see them. Looking for a house during COVID was definitely a challenge. But Colene made the daunting process of searching and buying a home easier on us. She is so incredibly knowledgeable. We had so many questions, and she answered each one, and explained everything in detail. There was never a question she left unanswered. And if she wasn’t sure, she’d always get back to us. She took the time to listen to us, what we wanted, and our needs. She’d always say to us: if this house doesn’t feel right don’t worry, we will keep looking until it does. And believe me, we saw a lot of houses. Colene always went by our schedule when we’d see homes. We would see some homes during the week, and at times have a full day on the weekend of going to see homes with her. Buying a home is such a personal thing. It’s one of the best investments you’ll make for yourself and your family. It’s also the scariest thing you’ll do. It’s so important to have a realtor that you can trust. When we put in our bid for our home, we were outbid. I told Colene that this one hurt. I felt we found our dream home. Colene heard us and went into action. She continuously following up with the sellers agent, calling and checking in as to what the status was of the other deal that had been made on the house. When she found out the house was back on the market, she literally got our offer accepted, and in attorney review within 24 hours. The sellers agent literally told her, of all the bids on the home (our house received close to 20 bids) she was the ONLY agent that continuously followed up. She was there every step of the way. We were a week away from closing, and when she found out that the sellers’s agents hadn’t obtained a CO certificate, she literally called the clerks office to set up the visit from the town so we wouldn’t have a delay in our closing. (essentially doing the seller’s agents job). There is never a process of buying a home that goes perfectly. But with Colene, it really was. She was always texting or calling us with updates. She was available to talk at all hours of the day, and even late nights. And we were not her only clients, but she never made us feel that way. We followed Colene’s guidance and instructions and got our home. She went above and beyond for us, and I can honestly say, she does it for all her clients. We still reach out to Colene with questions, and ask for suggestions for our home, whether it’s things we want to do to our home, or a suggestion on a plumber or handyman. Colene absolutely loves what she does, and it shows in all aspects of her work and how she carries herself. We expect to have many happy years here. Every time we have family and friends over, and they ask us, so what was your process like? How did you get this home? The first thing we say is: Colene Smith. She’s the reason we have this home. Here’s our story!!!
