I've always enjoyed solving problems and figuring out why something doesn't work. PCs, especially software problems, can be a challenge. Hardware problems usually are pretty straightforward. I also enjoy seeing the look of relief and happiness on a client's face when the system they thought was dead, and their pictures and important data lost forever, is brought back to life.

WELL FIRST OF ALL I TOOK MY COMPUTER 2 NEARDS ON CALL WHAT I JOKE THAT WAS THEY HAD MY COMPUTER 4 OVER 11 DAYS & ONLY CALLED ME ONCE ALL THE OTHER 5 TIMES I HAD 2 CALL THEM FIRST THEY SAID IT WAS GOING 2 BE $179 DOLLARS & I SAID GO AHEAD ANOTHER FEW DAYS WENT BY & AGAIN I HAD 2 CALL THEM & THEN THEY SAID IT WAS GOING 2B OVER $350 & I SAID NO WAY,I WILL JUST COME & GET IT,WHEN I GOT THERE THEY DID NOT EVEN HAVE IT PUT BACK TOGETHER & I LET THEM KNOW HOW I FELT OF THEM IN FRONT OF ALL THERE CUSTMERS,ANY WAY I SAID ALL THAT 2 SAY I FOUND JOHN ONLINE & HE TOOK IT & HAD IT FIXED IN 3 DAYS,HE KEEP ME INFORMED THE HOLE TIME & CHARGED ONLY $86 DOLLARS,SO DO NOT TAKE YOUR COMPUTER TO NEARDS ON CALL THEY R A RIP OFF,JOHN DID GREAT & HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING & KNOWS HOW 2 TREAT A CUSTERMER,THANKS JOHN.IT CALLED JSTEWART DATA SYSTEMS.

Quick, friendly, knowledgeable, and affordable. Could ask for more. Bigwig computer shops asked for almost 15 times more and 2 weeks for something he fixed in a couple hours. He was very prompt and sure to communicate with me to keep me in the loop. I highly recommend Johns services!

John was punctual, easy to work with, and flexible regarding how to best solve our supply line issues. His rates are reasonable and he's very knowledgable regarding both hardware and software and I trust him to fix even more complex problems then the nasty one I brought him recently. Definitely my weekend tech of choice!

I brought my laptop to John Stewart to repair a broken hinge. The Good Mr. Stewart ended up replacing my laptop with another model. I received another similar laptop with less RAM, a faster processor, and a larger HD. The Bad While fixing my laptop for the broken hinge, somehow, Mr. Stewart rendered my laptop "unbootable." This is why I ended up getting a different laptop back than the one I gave him. As part of the swap, I received a flash drive with the data pulled off of my old laptop, although some of the data was missing. I also received the hard drive from my old laptop and will have to find someone else to get the missing data from it. I am not going back to Mr. Stewart for this. The Ugly The replacement laptop came infected with all kinds of porn and viruses. I had to use four different anti-virus and anti-malware programs to clean it up. I've been computing for a long time and have never had any problems like this surface on any of my machines. Mr. Stewart did tell me that he used the replacement computer for a bit before giving it to me, so I'm assuming his use is the source of the porn and related viruses.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    Yes I do keep up on the latest developments in my field. I subscribe to several on-line newsletters, including one from CompTia, which is a certification organization for my industry. In addition, I am currently studying to take the new A+ examine through CompTia to certify that I am knowledgeable in the repair of PCs and their hardware and in the operating systems (usually Windows) that they run.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    The more detailed information you can give about the failed system, the more accurate the quote you will likely get. For example, if your laptop has a damaged display, giving the make and model of the laptop allows me to get an accurate price for a replacement screen rather than guess and give you an average cost.
