Introduction: Good lawyers need to excel at both writing and public speaking. There are many lawyers that are good at one or the other. I excel at both areas. I have great relationships and a great reputation with each of the Clark County Family Court judges. I have been married for 20 years and am a father of children. Protecting children is my passion.

I cant say enough good things about Kurt Smith and his legal team at Smith Legal Group! I went through a very painful divorce with a TON of litigation. Kurt was with me every step of the way. He was amazing before all THREE judges I ended up appearing before, and out of the 5+ times we were in court I won every single time. He was always on top of things, proactively calling me when something was up. And he was always there any time I had questions, taking his time to explain things to me in a way I could easily understand. I have only the best things to say about Kurt. He had been an amazing lawyer for me and a good friend. SO glad I found him. Thank you Smith Legal Group!

He could of showed up with enough time to actually go over my case with me. He showed up 30 minutes late and was under the assumtion we were just going to agree with the court instead of even trying to get a TPO that was filed behind many lies. Every time I handed him proof she was lying he did the worst job of presenting it if that. It was like he worked for the other side. I am contacting the bar association and would love to get my money back.

Ron was a client that came into our office the day before his Hearing on a Custody Modification case. He hired our office only to show up the next day at his Hearing. The Hearing for which we were hired was an initial Hearing at which a Protective Order against him was at issue. The Judge took the Protective Order allegations very seriously and due to criminal proceedings pending, did not dismiss the Protective Order against Ron. Although I argued on Ron's behalf, the Court was adamant that it would not dissolve the TPO until it was sure that Ron was not a danger to Mom or the Child. Unfortunately, throughout Ron's Hearing, Ron was getting agitated and began speaking loudly in Court. This gave the Court even more concerns about Ron since it appeared as if he was unable to control himself in Court. As the proceeding continued, Ron offered to hire me for the entire case on the spot if I would get him Primary Custody at that exact instant - this was the same time that the Judge was stating that she was concerned about Ron's conduct. Although we argued on Ron's behalf, Ron was his own worst enemy in Court. Based on the allegations against Ron, it was explained to Ron that there may be additional steps that needed to be taken in order to get him what he wanted. Those were not words that Ron wanted to hear at that moment. Although this Hearing was the only Hearing at which my firm represented Ron, I was pleased that through our work, we set Ron up to eventually get Joint Physical Custody of his Child.
