As a first time Thumbtack user, I wasn't sure what to expect. When Roy's bid came in as less restrictive, more affordable, and more generous than the other 4 I received, I was also not sure what to expect. I thought that surely it must be too good to be true, that I was just getting a dude with an oversized camera. His portfolio persuaded me to take a chance. I read the reviews but wasn't sure if they were legit since they were all written within a week of each other. To you skeptics...he is NOT too good to be true. Roy is the real deal. I was looking for someone to shoot an engagement in tough circumstances (4th of July, in the dark, in a crowd, under the fireworks, without one party knowing he was there, with just over 24 hours notice to plan everything). Roy went above and beyond the call of duty. For a price that was MORE than reasonable, he came out and met with the groom-to-be to scope out a perfect location. He came back on the 4th and fought the traffic and crowds to capture the proposal. He took the photos without the bride being aware, and had two sneak peak pictures posted less than 24 hours later. Despite the difficult circumstances, the photos are lovely, and I know that the couple loves them. Roy's session was a gift from me to the couple. I was paying, but the groom was in charge of the ins and outs and whens and wheres. Roy kept in great communication with both me and the groom so we both were in the loop about what we needed to know. Roy was prompt and courteous in all of his communications. He even threw in an engagement portrait session for the couple, too. I haven't seen the rest of the album yet, but the two shots he's shared already are the "money shots" of a proposal so we're thrilled. Book Roy. You won't be sorry. Thanks for making this experience great, Roy!

Roy did a superior job. Every picture he made was of excellent quality. He customized a backdrop specifically for us that worked great. He was on time, followed up, did not interrupt any of our meetings and very easy to work with. I would definitely work with him again.

Roy was great working with a large family group. We had 6 children ages 6 months to 10 years and he managed to get shots with everyone looking at the camera. Also accommodated our desire for both outdoor and indoor photos.
