FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was needing a job, not really wanting to go back into the working world, so I started taking care of my Pastors dogs, and then I was asked by an other friend from church to watch their cats. So I realized one day how much I enjoyed doing it and that it could become a good business, so I just started getting more customers. Right now I have over 20 different families that I work for.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I was caring for my largest customer, they have 6 horses. One of which is new for them, a rescue clydesdale. She is 14 and very undernourished. The second day when I was feed her I thought she felt a little warm, but didn't think too much about it. The next day she seemed to be find, but then on the fourth day she was not moving very well and was feeling warmer than the other day. The owner was home that morning, so we ended up calling the vet, and she was ill, not sure what she had, but they started meds on her and she is doing fine. I was so thankful that God was watching over both of us and that she is in good hands.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Referrals are the best way to get a good provider. Most of my customers have been referred by a previous customer. This means a lot to me and I will give a discount to that customer for the next visit for the referral.
