- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Contractors bid jobs differently. Bids can very from hundreds to thousands between contractors for the same job. Very important that customer understand licensed contractors pay fees before ever stepping foot on jobsite. Contractor license, local business license, workers comp, general liability insurance, advertising, overhead, etc. When bidding a job it is important a contractor recoups some of these cost and make a profit while giving the customer a price they are happy with. No one contractor has this down perfect. Some contractors may lose or break even on some jobs, hence giving the disparity between bids. Any company that fails to make a profit on a consistent basis will fail.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Finding out what is the scope of work desired. Scheduling a job walk. Informing customer the process for completing the work desired. Providing an estimate for work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an estimating certificate from RS Means. I have passed the business and law test for the Nevada B-2 General contractor. I have worked in the contracting field over 15 years. My father was a General contractor and I worked all phases of construction, management and business development while there.
