I recently realized I had a warrant for my arrest for battery with d/w resulting in bodily harm. Immediately I wanted to speak to and obtain an attorney as fast as possible! Unfortunately in the past Ive hired lawyers last minute that didn't seem to be very empathic towards my situation. I talked to and met in person three lawyers for a consultation about my recent charge I read many many reviews and wanted to choose the right person to defend me. Erik Zentz responded to me from thumbtack and was the last person I met with and ultimately obtained because not only was he fair on the fee he was the only one with insight on the charges and that showed his integrity and commitment. Since then he has been helpful and understanding surrounding my circumstances. The case is still open but I feel like I finally have someone I trust with doing whatever they can to make sure my rights are protected !! Thank you!

Amber is amazing. The entire staff of LVDG has always answered any questions or concerns clearly so that I understood them under duress. I would and have since recommended them to anyone who is in need of legal counsel. They understand the struggle of living paycheck to paycheck and were able to work with me on paying them. Dave, who did my initial consultation, set up and arranged my payments based on my income and has always called to randomly " check in " to assure I was ok. I HIGHLY recommend this law firm to anyone. They are aware of the laws and are very easy to talk to. I've never waited over a day to get a call back. With Amber I have never felt like " another file " Alex Czaruk

Impressed. One of the highest ranked personal injury firms in Orange County and I can see why. Excellent service and great results from the legal assistants and attorneys. Each individual at the firm does their due diligence and goes above and beyond for their clients (myself included). Phone calls are returned in a timely manner (which I realized, is very hard to come by :-/ ) Long lists of doctors all over the area with impeccable treatment for clients. Impressed!

My experience with Roberts Stoffel Family Law Group was a very positive one. Of course, whenever you are dealing with something very negative and bad in your life, it helps to have people by your side that you know care about you. That is how I felt about Amanda and her team. My case carried on a long time (4yrs)with something going on constantly. They took care of everything and always made sure it was in my best interest. They are very professional and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking legal advice or help.

I am glad and grateful that I have Mr. Harker as my attorney for vehicular collision. Mr. Harker introduced himself professionally and made sure his assistant Rachel was constantly following up with me. Often times, a few words of caring really means a lot and sinks deeply emotionally especially not knowing how to get properly treated for the injury accrued from the incident. Mr. Harker made sure my doctors arranged X-ray, MRI, chiropractor, doctors and procedures in a timely manner. Making the my case effortless on my end. Mr. Harker is definitely an attorney whom I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking to seek legal representative for injury. He is very caring and works diligently to get the highest settlement possible.

First off Isaiah is simply a nice man. He also speaks to you like you are a real person, which is refreshing. I asked him to review a settlement agreement and he was very thorough. I received an email the morning of the appointment, confirming it. I like this as I feel communication is so key in this type of relationship. During the consultation I never felt rushed, and obtained a ton of information that will help me deal with this company. I would have no hesitation in hiring Mr. Jerez again, and I would recommend him fully to anyone with a legal problem.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a personal injury lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer fights on your behalf if you’ve been injured physically, psychologically, economically or in reputation. This injury may be the result of neglect or malicious intent of another person, or it could be at the hands of a business, government or other entity. Personal injury lawyers specialize in tort law, which is the law of civil wrongs like car accidents, company wrongdoing, unlawful imprisonment and more.

To become qualified to be a personal injury lawyer in the United States, a person must earn a bachelor’s degree, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from a law school. Most states then require the person to pass the bar exam to become licensed to practice law. Unlike many attorneys who require a retainer, personal injury lawyers often work on contingency fees. This means that in lieu of payment upfront, they receive an agreed-upon percentage of the settlement in case of a win.

What should you look for in a personal injury lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer will advocate for your legal rights if you’ve been hurt in an accident at work or in daily life, have suffered from medical malpractice, or are struggling to have your insurance carrier cover your needs. It may be helpful to talk with two or three lawyers before selecting one. When looking for a personal injury lawyer, research their reviews and make sure former clients have had good experiences with them. Next, make sure the personal injury lawyer has experience and proven success winning cases similar to yours. Confirm that the lawyer is licensed to provide services in your state. When you find a qualified personal injury lawyer with whom you want to work, freely discuss payment and fees before any work begins. Most lawyers offer a free consultation to learn what your case is about and explain their rates. Personal injury attorneys typically receive a percentage of your settlement (called a contingency fee), so they are paid after the trial or case is complete. Keep in mind that some attorneys have fees that you must pay even if you don’t win your trial. It’s important to understand these details before work begins so you don’t have any unhappy surprises later. Lastly, it’s wise to choose a personal injury lawyer that you have confidence in and with whom you can communicate openly and honestly.
