I am passionate about capturing the moments you cherish most. My name is Sam, and I was created to create! I am a baby-huggin', dog mom, face mask obsessed photographer based out of Reno, Nevada! Originally from Sacramento, California. I have been passionate about photography since I was a child, and started my journey as a business owner/photographer when I was 15 years old. My goal as a photographer has always been to provide clients' with the most authentic and wallet-friendly photographs as possible. I strive to always be the most genuine version of myself, and to make others laugh till their bones hurt! I would describe my photography style as vibrant, airy, and of course, happy. I booked the Belly to Baby package (maternity + newborn), and I could not be more satisfied. From the initial message to the follow up after we received our baby's photos, I was thoroughly impressed and beyond satisfied with EVERY SINGLE PICTURE. Before our session, Sam answered all of our questions and was always very easy to get a hold of. She knew how important these photos were to us, and communicated her ideas well, and listened to ours. My father-in-law was recently diagnosed with cancer, so it was extremely important for my husband and I that we capture him in our maternity portraits, as he may not get to see our child grow as he wanted. She accommodated everything we wanted and needed! Sam picked the perfect location based on what we had told her, and even brought props to our session. Sam was gracious, kind, and sensitive when it came to our family and everything we were dealing with. I cannot express how greatful we are and appreciative we are to have found not only such an amazing photographer, but an amazing person to capture these important moments!! When the session done, we received the photos back within 3 days of the session. 7 weeks later I gave birth to a healthy baby boy! A part of the belly to baby package was choosing between a set-up, life-style, or hospital baby session. Me and my husband chose the set-up one, and were concerned as we live over an hour away from Sacramento and the session was to take place in our home. Sam said she was able to photograph us with no problem, and followed up with us on several occasions prior to birth. Sam arrived 15 minutes early to our session and brought her whole studio with her! She washed her hands prior to touching our bbay boy, and was extremely gentle and kind with him. When we mentioned to Sam that we were unsure between the home-style and posed style photos, she mentioned she could do both and mix the two sessions while she was there. Sam was so flexible and we are so blessed to have come across her. I cannot recommend this photographer enough. Her time, talent, kindness, and graciousness has gone a long way. We hold these photos of my father-in-law, who is now no longer with us, and my son close to our hearts forever. She captured beautiful moments that we would otherwise never be able to get back. Thank you Sam- for everything.

My fiancé and I searched everywhere for an affordable photographer to take our engagement photos when we came across Sam. We browsed her portfolio and decided we loved her pictures and contacted her about taking our pics. Mind you, we contacted her on a Saturday and wanted our pictures done that Sunday. Sam was very quick at responding and didn't hesitate to get this done for us even on such a short notice. This was our very first time taking professional pictures together and Sam was extremely patient with the both of us. Our pictures came out amazing and we used them for our save the dates. I encourage anyone who's looking for quality, affordable pictures to book through Sam. Thank you so much!

Sam Murray is extremely talented and customer focused. She recently photographed my family and child for her first birthday party, as well as a family portrait session, and did an absolutely incredible job. Sam was communicative throughout the process and met with us in advance of the event and photo session to get an idea of our vision. Sam is incredibly organized and always extremely responsive to calls, texts, and emails. Sam was able to accommodate my random family needs around portraits and was even able to capture some amazing moments with my older daughter who has autism and has difficulty smiling/staying in one place for any photo, some would say she even made it one of her goals. Sam was calm, easygoing, and helped us all be more comfortable in front of the camera. When all was said and done, we received the digital images through a link in my email within 2 weeks. When the images wouldn't download for us, Sam sent over an extra link, and we were wowed by the colors and quality of the work. She captured beautiful moments between our family. Truly, she went above and beyond. We will always cherish these photos we have of our daughter and family as she turns one and grows older! Thank you for all you did for us Sam!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I list my prices on my website for each session option and event package. If interested in a session, don't hesitate to request a quote, or contact me via my website for more information. I'd love to chat!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first contact is internet based. I then will usually exchange calls or emails with them depending on what they are most comfortable with, and then meet with them on the day of their session/event at the location and capture some awesome images! It takes approx. 2-3 weeks for portrait sessions, and 3-5 weeks for events, to receive an email with a link to your gallery of images where you can instantly download the retouched, unwatermarked, high resolution files.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been interested in photography since a very young age, and was self taught until the age of 16, when I enrolled in my first photography class. I continue to take classes to this day to stay up to date in my knowledge of the latest photographic technology and the latest programs.
