What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Nothing is ever to complicated, each client is different. I love to get things right, so if you don't see exactly what you what. Ask, and I can custom tailor a package or service just for you.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know them, what they like, don't like. Some people are comfortable with a camera around, others don't. During a wedding I pride myself in being fairly invisible, or just another member of the party.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Photography is an ever changing field. And while its good to keep up on new technology and have the latest gizmo, gear is not everything. Its practice and knowledge of what you are capable of doing and how to do it. Photography is not just a job or a hobby for us. Its a Life. There is rarely a day that goes by that I am not shooting something, or improving a technique. The camera is as much a part of me as is my foot, I would not know how to live without it.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I fell in love with photography in a high school darkroom. Every day since then, a camera has been my constant companion. I was told at a young age by my father, "Find something you love to do, then find someone to pay you for it, and you will never work a day in your life" I can honestly say, that I never call what I do work, its my passion and my life.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Photographers see things different then most people. when you see a small grungy corner of a room, we create a tight intimate location. When the weather looks gloomy and dull, we will jump for joy for dramatic sky's and soft shadows. Trust your photographer to find and capture you on your day.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Photographers are statistically the last to be booked, but most times the first and only thing you have to look back on.
