Dr. Sherill Spruill, has been my daughter's, vocal coach and piano and music theory instructor since the age of 7. She is now 19 and on scholarship at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. Dr Spruill, held my daughters hand throughout her musical journey - which she achieved NYSMAA level 6 in both Piano and Voice (with near perfect scores at each level), assisted my daughter with her preparation for over 15 musical auditions (which she successfully landed multiple leads roles), multiple auditions for television and of course her college entrance auditions. Sherill is still very much involved in my daughters education but she has now assumed more of a professional mentor, but not just with my daughter, I know of several former students who she is continuing to coach while in college. She has dedicated her life to education, not only with music but in all aspects of life, she cares about her students and their well being. If you know someone who is seriously interested in learning music, look no further.... Ohh and I almost forgot to mention, my two granddaughters have now assumed my daughter lessons times and the youngest (age 7) just played Jingle Bells to roaring applause at her elementary school holiday concert!!

Mrs. Spruill is by far one of the most educated, intelligent and greatest music teacher I have ever had. She taught me so much, and really increased my intelligence with reading music. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have been on the level I am now in college with their tough curriculum. She is very loving and caring and will push you too do your best and you will leave lessons knowing so much more than you did walking in.

Dr. Sherill Spruill has changed my perspective, not just through music but in how I choose to navigate through life. Her warm spirit and good heart naturally streams through whenever she teaches. FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $40 per half hour. If traveling to students' home add $10 for mileage and gas. Price is based on extensive teaching and performance experience and training.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After I speak with the student (or parents if student is a small child) about what they desire to obtain from the lessons, I ask about their former training (if any), then I would assess what they know and begin instructing from where their training ended.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education, certified to teach vocal science, over 30 years in teaching and a recently earned Ed.D in Education.
