My wife and talked with mr.Brown and told him what we wanted and he listen did everything just what we asked.And within the time that he said.And the prices were just great for us.And the work just was great and Mr.Brown. And mr.Brown listen and helped me and my wife dream house come true for us .I was very happy with everything and the work was great.He mr.Brown got us everything we wanted.And he and his workers were very respectful and always on time.I told and. The owner of Home Improvement Solutions made me feel at ease and reassured about the work he was going to perform in my home. He was very professional and was reasonable with his price. They repainted my whole house and redid my floors the job came out better than I thought so I hired Home Improvement Solutions once again to resurface my kitchen cabinets and countertops and I was not disappointed with their workmanship and I will highly recommend Home Improvement Solutions for any of my future home improvement needs and yours.

Hired on Thumbtack

I needed some home improvement done on my dated home so I decided to reach out to contractors on Thumbtack since I have used this service before and had good results. I got a few responses and started talking with Nathaniel Brown's company, Home Improvement Solutions IV LLC. I honestly thought the background check Thumbtack did covered and checked all the requirements for a business to say they can complete certain tasks when it comes to home improvement so after a few back and forth emails with Nathaniel, we (myself and fiancée decided to work with him. He came to our home, listen and discussed the projects and sent us an invoice with labor and some materials cost. We decided to go with him after specking with other contractors because he seemed like an honest person... boy were we wrong. He asked for a deposit to do demolition and get a dump truck to remove the garbage which we gave with a credit card and he promise to begin work within seven days. The first visual red flag was he didn't drive. We thought how could a contractor who has tools and is coming from far did't drive but we let that go. Next, he would say, "O one of my guys is there (at our home) working but when we would go and check no work was actually being done. We are currently transitioning to our home so we are not there all the time. When we would show up, we notice the home looked the same. Before Nathaniel, my fiancee had done some demo of removing the kitchen cabinets and bathroom tiles. Once Nathaniel took the job, these areas still looked the same indicating no work was done. The biggest red flag was this past Monday. Nathaniel indicated he was there so we decided to show up and see what work was getting done. When we arrived, he seemed surprised. He went back upstairs to the bathroom with my fiancee and I walked around the house. Prior to us showing up, he had asked us for more money, but we told him no because we did not see any actual work being done. When I began walking around the house, I notice there was a pool of water on the kitchen floor and another directly under the kitchen in the basement. Before Nathaniel, there was never a leak in the house EVER! We were surprise that he showed no concerned when we brought this up and again seem angered. At this point, we asked him to leave and indicated we would like a refund of our deposit. He did not contact us after this happened and we ended up reaching out to him. After a few back and forth, he told me that he would get back to me on the deposit. I decided to investigate further about his credentials and found out he is not a licensed contractor in the city of New York and should be to perform the work he agreed to do. To say we feel devastated is an understatement. It has been a few days and he has not reached out to discuss a refund. To make matters worst, the pools of water in the kitchen and basement was a result of someone turning on the water in both the bathroom and kitchen to let out a slow leak which did further damage to our home. Prospective clients PLEASE BEWARE!
