Greetings! I am Edward Sylvia, doing business as EDWARD SYLVIA NEW YORK. I am centrally located in Hunts Point, South Bronx, at 941 Hoe Avenue apartment 1L 10459, easily accessible by the 2, 5 and 6 trains, Metronorth and by car via the Bruckner Expressway. I am conservatory trained ( with over 35 years practical experience) in both theatrical costume design and production and couture. My services for men, women, children and amateur and professional companies include( but are not limited to): •custom design and production of theatrical costumes •drag costumes •burlesque costumes •evening wear( women's and men's) •bridal •special occasion •menswear •dance wear •activewear •millinery( hatmaking) •corsetry •period costume recreation •Halloween/ masquerade All services are available based upon a$40/hr fee. Rush jobs( less than one week delivery time ) incur an extra 50% total cost or $60/hr), overnite/same-day requests are billable @$80/hr. Estimates for the cost of any alterations can be generated after having fit the garment to you in person. Though I am experienced and skilled in designing the perfect garment to suit your needs and desires, I am also skilled in duplicating and recreating existing garments/ designs from images and photographs. I am a truly versatile designer and craftsman. I am open to meeting in other locations for design meetings and consultations, but fittings for custom garments should, out of necessity, take place in my Bronx studio. For Bartending and Event Wait staff inquiries: I occasionally will pursue these types of engagements for extra cash and a professional change of pace. I have worked in NYC hospitality off and on for the past 30 years . My experience and service include: Full bartending services (replete with my own bar tools and accessories), cater waiter service and buffet service. All services are billable at a $50/hr fee in the NYC metro area. Travel outside the metro area will incur an additional charge for travel time and expenses .
