Introduction: Some DJs show up; I show off. Coming out of Brooklyn, New York, DJ Uneek started DJing at the age of 17. Having a natural ear for music, he started making mixtapes with songs off the radio. Soon, he became locally known, and has used his talent and skill as a DJ and producer to earn him recognition within the hip hop community. Not limited to the nightclub scene, DJ Uneek is also the show/tour DJ for one of the east coast's most influential hip hop groups, M.O.P. He has also performed on stages and arenas on national tours including The Anger Management, Roc Da Mic, Rock Da Bells, and No Way Out tours, along with college homecomings and after parties for artist such as G-Unit, Jay-Z, Lil' Kim, Eve, Foxy Brown, Joel Ortiz, Cam’ron, T.I., Redman, and Methodman. DJ Uneek is also the winner of "The Best New DJ Award of 2000" at The Justo Mixtape Awards, and has released over 60 mixtapes to date, ranging in everything from blends to best ofs. Not only known for mixtape fame, Uneek has ripped down every major club in NYC as well as the surrounding Tri-State Area. Uneek has also rocked in clubs from as close as Atlanta, and Florida to more international venue including Switzerland, Italy, France, and Japan. Uneek has also been making a name for himself as a “budding producer on the come up," in the words of Kanye West’s Good Music A&R rep. Building relationships in the music industry with producers like DJ Premier and Red Spyda, Uneek is excelling in his career with production credits on numerous G-Unit mixtapes, Maino’s Hi Hater, and Troy Aves', "Bricks In my Backpack" mixtape, which was voted by XXL Magazine as 2010 Mixtape of the Year. When asked why he loved DJing he answered, “I love hip hop. I always have, and being a DJ is the cornerstone of that. I like to control the crowd at clubs, and I feel blessed to have this talent.” With these credentials and his passion, DJ Uneek is on his way to be one of the next big DJ in the country.
