About this pro

How does your service stand out?

I completed my high school education in Ecuador. My Spanish is very good and since I was born and raised in NYC, my English is very good as well, without a heavy accent.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

You meet new people and after a great performance, the compliments and smiles on the clients faces. :-) Priceless.

I was impressed with Rudy and his services. He is kind and attentive to the details of the party. I love how he did a great job mixing the Peruvian music for my mother's 60th birthday party. His sound and light system are great. All of the guest were happy and danced all night without stopping. Thank you Rudy for making my mother's birthday special. I recommend him for any kind of parties.

Common Ground has worked with Rudy Demera since 2012 for our tenant, building-wide parites. He's very professional, accommodating and extremely understanding. He's always been receptive of our needs and specifications, is very experienced in what he does, and arrives/sets up independently. Even when he can't provide the services himself directly, he sends us someone comparably professional and hard-working. He's always a pleasure to work with and we've always had very positive and reliable experiences with him.

What types of customers have you worked with?
We help music loving couples have a great wedding reception and keep their guests dancing all night long. We include their favorite tunes without the cheesy MC.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
The couple from our last wedding we performed, indicated to me at each of our pre planning meeting, that they were not the type to dance but I have pictures of them dancing through out the event. The tip at the end of the night said the same, awesome!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Price, although important, should not be the deal breaker. Make sure you meet with any professional vendors. You will see a few common things with them all but only 1 or 2 will shine; the price will then be secondary. Also make sure that your venue may or may not require insurance for each professional.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
That we are also providing a service, not just pushing play. There is a lot of pre planning as well as things to do the day of the event. We leave a couple of hours before the start time on your contract. We get there, set-up, test that all is working well and finish getting dressed. Your DJ puts in many hours of work, not just the 4 to 6 hours of your reception. That is also what you are paying for.
