FAQs
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I recently worked on a 327-page non-fiction manuscript for the blind and low-vision community. I am also working on a semi-autobiographical novel that is based in Mississippi about a sharecropper's family and their journey along the path of the underground railroad. I have ghostwritten college entry essays, and successfully written my client into a prestigious university. Additionally, I have edited a 184-page screenplay about a catastrophic natural disaster that affected millions, causing them to evacuate their homes and livelihood.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish my customers knew that editing is very different from ghostwriting. In ghostwriting, it takes a good amount of research and work to make sure that their paper is uniquely theirs. Some papers need so much editing, that it is considered ghostwriting. For example, if the editor is having to frequently change sentence structure and replace vocabulary to meet the client's needs, this is considered ghostwriting. In addition, clients might want to be conscious about asking for lower prices. This could mean short-changing the scribe making the client's paper look good enough for an "A" or "B". Remember: It is okay to work within a budget, but clients should keep their grade or quality in mind too. :)
