I love what I do. And it shows in the pictures I take. Moreover, my background in psychology helps me connect better with people. My clients normally feel very much at ease with me and that shows in the pictures as well. No awkward smiles :) Good pictures make people happy. So in some way, I feel like I am contributing to my clients' happiness. And I can almost see those smiles in the feedback emails I receive. Now THAT makes my day!

I hired Rojita to photograph a surprise proposal and engagement party. The pictures taken outside at night when I proposed (in difficult lighting) came out great and clear, far surpassing expectations. She stayed hidden which was the most important part of the night. Overall I'd give her an excellent rating. The only negative I could offer is that most of the edited pictures looked to have a "vintage" hue added to them, this may have been due to the lens used at night without being able to use a bright flash (since she was to stay hidden). I also cannot offer an opinion on day photography.

I hired Rojita to clandestinely shoot my proposal to my now fiancée, as well as for a set of official, posed engagement pictures a week after the proposal. The experience, the pictures, her professionalism were all, in a word, Amazing (capital A not a typo). Let's start with the proposal. Rojita met me at the proposal site in Bryant Park 30 minutes before my girlfriend was due to arrive so that we could find an ideal spot and talk about placement, positioning, etc. to give us the best photos possible. Next, a 20-30 minute wait turned into an hour wait when my girlfriend's car was stuck in traffic (note to prospective proposers: never send a chauffeur to escort your girlfriend during NYC rush hour and then expect them to arrive anywhere within 20 minutes). During that hour not only did Rojita maintain endless patience and enthusiasm, she also guard-dogged the chosen bench and its environs for a full sixty minutes to keep the space clear for us when my girlfriend finally arrived. That right there earns someone an "amazing" in my book, a descriptor immediately upgraded with a capital A when my fiancée and I received the stunningly gorgeous photos. These are images that we will look at fondly for the rest of our lives, and to have the candid moment captured in such stark, vivid beauty is an immense treasure. Rojita shot posed engagement photos for us a week later and once again arrived with enthusiasm to match our own. She listened to and accommodated all of our requests and supplemented them with endless wonderful ideas of her own. Not once did we feel the least bit rushed during the shoot, something evident afterwards in the care and quality of the photographs. Overall, what a splendid experience we had! I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone searching for a skilled, careful and passionate photographer.

Extraordinary artist that exudes incredible energy! We were very blessed to have found Rojita through Thumbtack. We know many photographers and worked with many famous ones but the value Rojita brought blew everyone away. She is worth at least 3 times what she charges. We had our wedding in a celebrity's home so we were extra careful of who we worked with. Everything went without a glitch and Rojita's left all of us in awe with her eye for perfection!

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    My first camera was a gift when I was 11 years old. Growing up, I had this habit of putting an imaginary frame to everything I saw around me - I would compose pictures in my head all the time even when I did not have a camera in my hand. When I started realizing that this isn't just a hobby, and that it is most definitely a passion - that was when I decided to follow my dream and make this happen.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Look at the photography style and see if it resonates with you. Will this photographer be able to capture my moments and tell my story - that's a good Q to begin with.
