Hi, I'm Cory! I studied music and psychology at Pennsylvania State University. I have 20+ years experience as a composer, performer (guitar, bass, piano/organ, voice) and audio engineer. My family have always been educators and musicians, and combining these two areas especially brings me joy.
In all aspects of my educational approach, I merge passion for musical craft and practice with knowledge about how our minds learn, what best motivates students, and how kids, young adults and older adults differ in their cognition and ways of learning.

Cory was an incredible guitar teacher for my 5-year-old. At that age, the most important thing is building excitement and confidence—and he absolutely nailed that. My son not only learned the basics, but genuinely looked forward to every lesson.
Cory has a great way of connecting with young kids. He made lessons fun and engaging, and even incorporated “cool” music that really spoke to my aspiring little rock star. That made such a difference in keeping him motivated and proud of what he was learning.
More than anything, Cory helped set the stage for a real love of music, which feels invaluable. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a patient, engaging, and inspiring teacher for young beginners.

I don’t quite remember how my mom found Cory, but I’m so happy she did, my guitar had been hanging in my room waiting to be played, but I wasn’t able to find time to really learn, now I meet with Cory weekly for not only a lesson but someone who is fun, engaging, clearly knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about playing guitar, he is the best guitar teacher I’ve ever had, granted he is the only guitar teacher I’ve had, but I have had other musical teachers for school or provide lessons and I can genuinely say that Cory has been the best, he is a kind soul who meets you where you are and makes guitar fun, even the more menial tasks of memorizing chords and note positions, though again that may just me my own enthusiasm. We’ve been working together for nearly 6 months now, and my progression from nothing to beginner something is notable. Every time I come to class I’m excited to learn and play. As time has passed I find myself excited to come home and practice guitar.

Guitar lessons with Cory have been a phenomenal experience so far. I have learned more in a few weeks with Cory than in a year of trying to learn on my own. He is extremely patient and encouraging with me as a beginner. He tailors each lesson to what I am interested in learning, building on what we learned in past weeks so there's always forward movement. I would highly recommend Cory to anyone looking to learn guitar.

Cory is an amazing music teacher. My little one is turning 5 this year, and keeping young kids engaged can be a challenge, but Cory knows exactly how to meet them where they are. He makes learning fun and interactive, using creative tools like Lego pieces to help kids mark piano keys—turning lessons into a game while still teaching valuable skills. The combination of his teaching expertise and musical professionalism creates a fantastic learning environment. My child is learning so much while having a blast! Cory works with students of all ages, so whether you're looking for lessons for a little one or for yourself, I highly recommend him!
