Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: Drew Wesely received his Bachelors of Music in Jazz and Improvisational Music from the University of Nevada Reno and his Masters of Music in Contemporary Improvisation from New England Conservatory. He teaches guitar, piano, songwriting, and composition with an emphasis on intuitive learning, ear training, and music theory. His background includes jazz, classical, rock, blues, reggae, R&B, hip-hop, electronic music, and improvised music. As an educator he has eight years of experience in private studio and has given workshops at the middle school, high school, and college level including his recent outreach work with the Boston Philharmonic to underfunded schools. Drew approaches each student as an individual with their own goals, needs, experience level, and learning style to create a specialized curriculum that helps propel the student towards their best self and enjoy the process at the same time. I genuinely love connecting with students through music to help them reach their personal goals. I believe that my approach towards learning music is deeply rewarding, engaging, and aids brain development.

Guitar Lessons

Drew is a wonderful teacher. He is always on time and he is teaching me how to learn the instrument again. He is open to helping with my fingering issues and teaching me practical ways to practice. He know all types of music and can go with the flow which works really well with someone like me who has not played in years. I highly recommend Drew for any level of guitar or any style!

Guitar Lessons

My 8 year old girl and 10 year old boy have been talking about wanting to take music lessons for about a year now. My girl was interested in piano and my son wanted to learn guitar. I set them up with introductory classes at Guitar Center one weekend and they loved it. I get the kids every other weekend so trying to work out a schedule with the folks at Guitar Center was tough. A friend recommended I try Thumbtack where I first saw Drew’s profile. I noticed he taught both guitar and piano and his reviews were excellent so I sent him a note about what I was looking for and the schedule I needed to be on. He was extremely accommodating and worked the two lessons into his schedule. Drew has been teaching piano and guitar to my kids for about 3 months now. He’s extremely patient with the kids and he explains things very well. My daughter can be a handful at times, he has a way of keeping momentum throughout the lesson by keeping her focused and on-track. He makes the lessons fun for them and they get excited come Friday night and always ask if “Drew is coming tono

Guitar Lessons

Drew has been fabulous so far! He shows up each time very promptly a few minutes before each lesson. He's extremely professional, and has some tricks that I've never been taught before, which has been great. He also very patient, and down-to-earth. I highly recommend him!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing is based on extensive professional experience as a performer and educator as well as my qualifications: Masters of Music from New England Conservatory.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When meeting a new student I like to get to know them personally and establish goals early on. As we work together, I guide each student towards the best version of themselves with repertoire, ear training, music theory, technique, and composition assignments appropriate for their age, ability level, and stylistic preferences. I recommend 45min weekly lessons for beginners and 60min lessons for intermediate or advanced students as well as 20min/60min daily practice respectively. Lessons are laid back and focused on developing muscle memory and musical intuition through lots of playing.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Masters of Music - Contemporary Improvisation - New England Conservatory Bachelors of Music - Jazz and Improvisational music - University of Nevada, Reno
