Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: At my practice my main focus is to work with each student based on her/his own talents and interests. The fundamentals of music are the goal but there are many ways to get to them. During our sessions we will customize (and keep refining) the way that works for you. My main concern is to provide a gateway to the magic of music and hopefully to inspire. A little about me: 14 yrs teaching experience/performed with award winning & internationally acclaimed artists/studies with some of the leading artist & educators in the jazz/rock as well as the classical music world. As a producer I have worked on highly acclaimed albums in their field. _______ The guitar is a unique & beautiful instrument and as such it has it's own peculiarities built in. Decoding the ways the fingerboard works will open the road to artistic expression. Additionally, if you are interested in audio recording or mixing, we can incorporate lessons on those subjects into your curriculum as well. Understanding sound is an essential part of being a well-rounded musician in any genre these days and both fields can open up wide worlds of expression and artistry to those willing to delve into them. I work with each of my students to determine and constantly refine his or her path, and as we follow your path I will work to give you all the tools needed to pursue your goals Too many to list but in a an effort to narrow it down it's the pleasure of growth that happens through the practice. And seeing how it applies to non musical context, it can basically be a life changing experience

Guitar Lessons

This was my first guitar lesson, first instrument lesson from high school really and I was nervous, wasn't sure what to expect but Stelios made me feel very comfortable, his talent is inspiring, he was great with my 4 year old and I can't wait for my next lesson!

Guitar Lessons

I’ve had many music teachers over the years and I can confidently say that Stelios is among the best. He is extremely passionate and knowledgable about music, and genuinely enjoys digging into any and all material that you want to learn. Whether you want to learn a new song, work on your own songwriting, or dive into music theory, Stelios is always attentive and ready with encouragement and constructive feedback. He can very quickly figure out how to play a song after listening to it once or twice, and can always break it down so that it’s easy to learn. If you’re interested in songwriting, Stelios often accompanies you and will provide feedback that fosters both growth and independence. He is able to pinpoint both your strengths and your areas for improvement, and tailors his lessons to meet your needs as a student and a musician. Stelios makes his students feel comfortable immediately with his warm, sincere personality and his hospitality. It is clear that Stelios truly loves music of all varieties, and truly loves to teach and learn. These qualities, among many others, make him a rare and excellent guitar teacher.

Guitar Lessons

Stelios was really able to connect well with me and understood my passion and determination to learn how to play the guitar. He took his time getting to know me and why I wanted to play the guitar which really helped me relax into the session creating the ideal learning environment. He was very receptive and when it came time to play, he was not judgmental and extremely patient. I absolutely recommend him to anyone who is just starting to learn.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge my hourly rate both at my studio or at the students home. Traveling time gets added to the lesson price. For example, for a student that lives 15m away an hour lesson will be charged as a 1,5h lesson.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

It always differs, everyone is unique & therefore requires an individual approach. I will usually try to find ways that the student will relate to the fundamentals of music as well as the instrumental technique. We often will use other instruments like the piano, the voice, or the drums when it seems appropriate.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    * Jazz Studies under: Mick Goodrick, Ed Tomassi, Hal Crook. Tim Miller, Dave Tronzo a.o. @ Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA * Classical Studies under Evangelos Assimakopoulos, Yorgos Kertsopoulos, Kostas Grigoreas/ Masterclasses with Oscar Ghilia, Roland Dyens, Hupert Kappell a.o. * Faculty of Jazz/Rock & Classical Guitar Dept. at the South Shore Conservatory in Boston & the Ezra Classical Guitar school in NYC * Recorded/toured as guitarist/composer/musical director with internationally acclaimed musicians & ensembles such as the contemporary music ensemble ALEA III, multi grammy awarded artist Residente, composer & multi instrumentalist Marcelo Toledo, free jazz titan Daniel Carter, pianist extraordinaire Leo Genovese, sufi-inspired singer Arooj Aftab & chamber jazz-world ensemble Banda Eclectics a.o. * Performed in venues such as: the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Jazz at Lincoln Center in NY, The Sanders Theatre at Harvard, The Berklee Performance Centre in Boston a.o. * Music Transcriber for Guitar Tricks,Inc. since 2010
