- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before I meet with a new student, I like to email, text, or talk on the phone with them a bit to establish their goals for our lessons together. I also usually request that my students send me assignment rubrics, study guides, notes, or other class materials (if applicable) before our lessons, so that I can familiarize myself with their teacher's methods. That also gives me a chance do any preliminary research that would help us get the most out of our meeting!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a BA in Politics, Philosophy & Economics, and I constantly bring that background to bear in providing my students with an integrated view on the material they’re studying. I've been tutoring part- or full-time in NYC for over 3 years, and I also worked overseas in a K-12 international school providing one-on-one academic and ESL support to students at all levels.
