About
“An artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision.”-James McNeil Whistler. My passion for teaching art has led me to this path. As a private instructor my goals are to foster your child’s creativity and skill set while providing them with high quality educational art lessons. With over ten years of experience I can ensure that your child’s work will flourish. Through my instruction your child will gain tools that will help then improve their art. Through traditional mediums and practices your child will learn how to critically think as well as apply methods of making to their work. Together let’s collaborate to help your child grow into the great artist that they can be.

Kiara has been working with my child for about six months now. My child was able to get into a special arts middle school with a portfolio that was made through her instruction.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am willing to make adjustments and accommodations. Scheduling I am very particular about. I require deposits a week in advance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I discuss what are their initial goals and what they hope to gain from lessons. I conduct and assessment to see what their skill set looks like. I also ask if prior to meeting that they send me images of their work. Assessments are different depending on the age of the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended the Cleveland Institute of Art for 5 years as a drawing major. I have background in photography, graphic design, animation and printmaking as well as painting. I have in numerous educational organizations, such as the Cleveland school of the arts, Esperanza and El Museo del Barrio. I am a former art instructor/educator. I had worked for Success Academy Charter Schools as a fine arts instructor as well as arts after school coordinator. I am in the process of obtaining my teaching certifications.
