I am a professional chef that has cooked for about 9 years now. I gained my culinary arts degree through Kingsborough community college. I am both food and alcohol serv safe certified. I am also a licensed bartender. I currently run a personal chef business by the name of “Zoe’s kitchen” (“zo-s” not zoey). I provide catering, candlelight dinners, dinner parties, & brunches! I will also be providing meal prep soon too! For me cooking is my passion and my peace. I love getting in the kitchen and creating something no one has ever thought of before!

Marie is great and her food is delicious! Zoe's Kitchen was hired to prepare a private chef - family style meal for 4 adults. Lobster bisque, and Cajun wingettes as appetizers. Steak and crab cake stuffed salmon for entrees. For the sides she prepared, mac and cheese, asparagus, brussel sprouts, and French bread with whipped butter. Desert was a peach cobbler with blueberry glaze and vanilla ice cream. Everyone was satisfied and stuffed. Marie is great with answering questions and communicating. I found her prices to be very fair. Marie explained each dish and gave us a brief background on herself and her business. We were all impressed with the quality of her work. When she was finished, she left the kitchen cleaner then when she arrived.

I reached out to Chef Marie regarding a private dining experience. She was responsive and willing to work with my budget. I decided to book a catered meal to be delivered to my home and Chef Marie delivered a timely and delicious meal! Each item was tasty and overall packaging and presentation was phenomenal. Chef Marie did an outstanding job in making my family’s Christmas dinner one to remember. It started with the consultation, she was so friendly, helpful and professional. After we decided on the menu she sent a contract to set expectations. She was in contact with me frequently and answered any questions when asked. On the day of pickup she was ready before the agreed upon time and everything was packed with care to avoid leaks and spills during transport. When I unwrapped the food, the presentation was on point, with garnishes and edible flowers. Everyone in family raved about the food all night long because they weren’t expecting the level of flavor they were met with for each dish. Chef Marie did not disappoint, I will be back!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Everyone’s requests are different so therefore your price will be different. Thumbtack prices are not fully accurate for personal chefs. It really comes down to the amount of people and your menu but for a dinner for 3- course dinner for 2 is $650. Anything greater than 2 people will be charged per person depending on the amount of people. I do offer a 10% discount if you subscribe to my website when booking with me for the first time !
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically contact them through their phone and get on a call to discuss the details of their event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an associate degree in culinary arts. I’ve also worked a lot of restaurants and participated in restaurant association conventions. I also have my food safety and alcohol safety licenses.
