As a teacher with years of experience, I aim to provide a thorough understanding of piano technique, music theory, ear training, and sight reading to my students while constantly cultivating their individual passion and excitement about music. I maintain an upbeat, exuberant attitude coupled with patience and understanding I've acquired from working with children and adults of all ages, ranging from 4 to 66 years old. After receiving my Bachelor of Music at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, I spent a couple years back home in Portland, Oregon before traveling to Tokyo for nearly three years to teach and perform there. After these experiences and hundreds of private lessons, I have established my method for teaching the piano and am able to adapt to a variety of interests and styles depending on the student's personality. I'm happy to travel to the student's location, but depending on the distance and time I need to commute, I may charge an additional travel fee.
