- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been mostly a performance musician for the past 15 years but only recently pursued a career in education. My family is full of educators and I only recently found the rewards of education. I have more patience now and more open with the environment that surrounds me.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
As there is high demand for piano teachers I mostly do work for beginning students or students from a classical background and want to dive into jazz. Trumpet lessons are less common.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find someone who in genuinely enthusiastic about what they do. A lot of great musicians are terrible educators. I think that the greatest educators are happy to work with you and not above you.
