I rarely write reviews, but Dr. Straker deserves a shining review for her professionalism, expertise, and attentiveness. Initially I was skeptical about seeing a psychologist or any kind of therapist, but I have now been seeing Dr. Straker for the past two years and couldnt imagine not seeing her on a regular basis. She has truly become an invaluable life coach, a voice of reason, and a person whose advice and opinions I trust. I have also recommended her to close friends of mine, who think she is phenomenal.
Dr. Straker has a unique ability to quickly understand your situation, whether it be personal, relational, or professional, and to equip you with relevant tools and exercises. She is a great listener, empathetic, intelligent, and says things the way they are without sugar-coating it. I havent left one session, without feeling I got more than my moneys worth. You can easily tell that she is very well educated, experienced in her field, and extremely people smart. She also always takes the time needed, and is very flexible in regards to scheduling.
I cannot recommend Dr. Straker enough, and she is well worth the commute to Brooklyn from Manhattan! She also offers Skype sessions if you are unable to meet in person.
