Introduction: I have a divers background in art education. My studies began at Kendall College where I completed an intense technical training program in the visual arts. Next, I took my technical skills to a conceptual interdisciplinary institution, The School of the Museum of Fine Arts. The combination of study under the two drastically different art education philosophies has allowed me to shape my own approach to artistic study. This practice allows students to excel through their own interest at both technique and idea formation. I've always been a creative person. Creating a masterpiece is a goal I took on around age 5, and I'm still working at it. The artist mind is always creating more, and more. In my experience, there needs to be an outlet for all the creative energy to go! My sister and I took art lessons from a young age, and as I grew up, I never stopped studying art. Now I've reached the point where teaching is the means of furthering my own knowledge. Teaching skills and technique to students promotes further understanding of the methods application. I love seeing how student apply age old techniques for their own contemporary interpretations. Most importantly, sharing my knowledge is a way of thanking those who shared it with me!
