Couldn't be happier or ask for a better experience. Our daughter, who was always a sort of middling math student and really starting to hate it, was completely transformed by working with Elizabeth. We were sort of shocked (and our daughter very proud) when she ended up with a 100% and an A for her semester grade in geometry. This was up from a struggling C last year. But apart from the grade, I think she really looked up to Elizabeth as a role model and mentor who is not only very smart and good at math, but also working hard in college while doing tutoring as well. All our dealings have been extremely pleasant, professional, and understanding. She is very savvy with teenagers and is actually the first tutor who has ever worked out for us since our daughter tends to be a little headstrong and tends to view tutoring as an imposition on her free time. We never heard one complaint about having to do math, and whereas I am pretty sure she is not going to go on to be a math major, at least she will be able to face required college math courses with a strong foundation, experience with a successful study plan, and no anxieties. Really fabulous all-around.

I had an AMAZING experience with Elizabeth. she was super helpful, understanding, very patient with me & very clear and concise. before tutoring with Elizabeth, I tried to pass a math exam for Nursing school 3 times and failed each time. I decided to finally get tutoring & Elizabeth helped me prepare for my math exam & I finally passed with a high score. I’m very grateful & would recommend Elizabeth to anyone!

My daughter started university this year and found adjusting to the college workload difficult. She had a heavy load of Biology and Chemistry and started to fall behind. The tutors at the college often were booking more than one student at a time, so individualized help was lacking and finding someone to explain things in a way that she could understand was hard to come by, or to just find a tutor that was available when she needed it. Liz not only provided that individualized help she was needing, but also has been able to meet with her frequently to help her get back on track. She has helped her to understand concepts and prepare for tests. This has made a tremendous difference to my daughter's morale- she had felt like giving up and Liz's support and help has given her the encouragement to keep going as she saw improvement. Finding Liz has been a blessing, we are all thankful for her support and help!

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My hourly rate is $45-55. Venmo and Zelle are the accepted forms of payment.
I usually work with students for 1-2 hours per session and am able to do as many sessions a week as needed.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I personalize all my tutoring sessions based on the student’s needs. First, we discuss the goal(s), such as getting a better grade or preparing for a standardized test. Then, we determine the steps to take in order to succeed and I create an individualized plan for every tutoring session.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started as a volunteer tutor at the Star Learning Center in NYC when I was a junior in high school. I really wanted to work with students one-on-one and help them succeed in school. Tutoring someone and seeing them understand a subject better and improve their grades is a very rewarding process!
