Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: My name is Madeline Beard, and I currently work as a graphic designer for a modeling agency in Manhattan. In my spare time, I love taking on freelance projects for a range of clients. My freelance clients currently include a U.K. based ticketing company and a mobile app start-up. In these roles, I am a design "swiss army knife" -- by that I mean, I like to do a little bit of everything. Whether it be designing print invitations, promos, e-vites, slide decks, logos, and publications or customizing websites, I am equipped with the skills to help with almost any design idea. I am a motivated, organized, and creative thinker who is passionate about working with people to meet their needs and expectations for any design project that excites them. As a designer, I enjoy challenging myself, so don't hesitate to inquire about any project, no matter how big or small.

Madeline has helped me put together a variety of print projects including invitations and promotional pieces. She is professional, approachable, thorough, and very open about her design process. She has experience working with printers, so she will see your project through from the beginning brainstorming phases to the very end, ensuring quality and satisfaction every time. I highly recommend her services!

I asked Maddie to design a canvas print for my boyfriend for his birthday. My idea was really abstract and Maddie really found a way to bring my idea to life. She worked with me every step of the way, sharing drafts and proofs of the design to ensure that it was everything I wanted. She even helped set me up with a printing service and gave me sizing and framing guidance and recommendations. She is very thorough, incredibly creative and a true pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend her skills to anyone and look forward to working with her on other projects in the future.

I am so glad that I asked Madeline to create my resume. She asked me a few brief questions about my preference for the style, colors scheme etc. and what she created was better than anything I could have imagined. She made it for me over two years ago and I am still using the same one (it got me my job!), and she is kind enough to regularly update it for me. She works quickly but still cares about every last detail of what she creates. I would recommend Madeline to anyone for her outstanding design services.

Madeline is incredibly kind and offered an extremely personalized service for a very fair price. My finished blog was everything I wanted and she let me know I could always reach out to her for help. She even took the time to write out a 'cheat sheet' so that I could maintain the blog. Wonderful experience!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I usually request a 50% deposit of the total quoted amount at the start of the project (when the client contract is signed). I ask for 25% after the first round of edits is sent to the client, and the remaining 25% when the final files are sent. This pricing breakdown is flexible and is based on each individual client's needs.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When I start working with a client on a new project, I like to begin with a preliminary conversation to go over their needs and the ideal end goal for the project, as well as a step-by-step look at the design process. We will talk about initial ideas, brainstorm together and I'll ask for any visual/verbal inspiration the client has (I'm a big believer in shared Pinterest boards). After this initial conversation, I will start by creating several rough draft options. I will send over to the client for feedback, then begin to refine. We will usually go through 2 - 3 rounds of edits, then a review before the delivery of the final files.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I attended American University in Washington, DC where I earned my BA in Graphic Design and Public Communication.
