FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every custom jewelry design comes with it's own challenges, since each ring is a one-one-of-kind and has never been made before....it's impossible to create a standardized pricing system. We can say though that the minimum amount that you can expect to invest in a custom design is $700-$800. Our pricing structure is based on a labor and materials basis, the labor includes the time to design the computer files and shop top needed to craft the jewelry. Andrews Jewelers never strives to be the lowest price for it's custom designs, we aim to provide you with the most award winning designs at a very fair price. If you are using Thumbtack to receive a quote it's important that you provide as much detail as possible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin by meeting with the customer to discuss what type of jewelry that they want created. From there an Andrews Jewelers designer will make a list of all the requirements for the project, we try to determine why the customer feels that the jewelry needs to be custom made. This helps us suggest the styling type and design elements that should be used in the jewelry, for example will the item be vintage inspired or contemporary. Only after a thorough interview process can we flesh-out all of your hot buttons. Next we'll provide preliminary sketches and pricing to help you get an idea of what the item will look and what you'll need to budget for the project. Upon placing your order, an Andrews Jewelers design will begin conceptualizing your jewelry using Computer Aided Design software. After the computer models are completed we'll provide renderings/drawings to give you an idea of how the jewelry will look when finished. The Computer models may also be used to power our 3D printers, these printers produce wax prototypes/samples for you to try-on and look at in person prior to the crafting of the jewelry. Once you approve the samples, our expert jewelers will being the handcrafting using the finest quality precious metals and gemstones.
