Introduction: I have been teaching private lessons for over 30 years throughout the mid-west (now WNY), ranging from 5 years of age through the collegiate level. My approach to growing their skills is many facetted. No one learns exactly the same. I do stress understanding the elements of music, rather than playing by ear. Locally, I teach through Community Music School of Buffalo. When I see or hear a student achieve a goal, be it reading, coordination, performance or an audition, I enjoy their realization that they are, through their gifts and talents, learning something that will last their whole life.
