My husband and I started marriage counseling and are making progress in a very short amount of time. She is very good.
Mike Callahan was wonderful in performing our marriage. He is a caring person whose presence as officiant truly helped make our wedding very special. He listened. to our suggestions and incorporated a simple and meaningful service. Anvit and I were very blessed to have Michael at our wedding,
Our marriage was in trouble We could not get past things from the past and as hard as we tried to communicate it always became a fight. Once we brought Tom into the mix he created a very comforting unique approach. He was able to get my husband to open up as well as myself and real communication started to happen. Excellent job we can't say enough
Having met Dr. Anna is one of the best things that's ever happened to me. I had been in therapy for over a decade with various counselors, but now I know the difference between a therapist and a Therapist. She is warm, compassionate and creative, no two sessions are the same, and she seems to have an incredible repertoire of techniques at her disposal. She is always goal-oriented, makes sure that results are really happening, and always explains everything so clearly as you have never heard and never understood before. She has the greatest sense of humor, her academic knowledge is amazing, and her fine-tuned sensitivity boarders on the mystical. Yet she is always funny, down to earth, and real. I've never laughed so much in therapy sessions before! :-) I am so grateful, ... because I am finally discovering what "free" and "happy" really mean!
Therapy with Alison worked for us. It took awhile. There were a few months when nothing seemed to be changing. My wife and I were having the same fights, stuck the same way. I wanted to quit, but my wife insisted and I'm glad she did. Things started to click. The same things Alison had been pointing out to us suddenly made sense at a different level. Maybe we just needed to hear it over and over, or maybe the sessions we were doing got us ready, but suddenly we were able to change. Alison had been assigning us homework, but we rarely did it. When we started doing the homework, our marriage got better faster. But Alison never judged us when we didn't do it. She was always patient. She also saw both sides and helped us look at things instead of blaming one person, as a "dance" we get stuck in.
Vlada was wonderful! Our ceremony was delayed because we forgot the marriage license :-) but Vlada managed to put everything back together when we were ready and she performed a beautiful ceremony with touching memorable words. My husband and I were able to meet with Vlada weekds before the ceremony and we knew right then, that we were lucky to have her as our wedding officiant. Thanks again Vlada!
I have known Mary for many years and can say that she is one of the most incredible human beings you will ever work with. Once you sit down with her, she immediately makes you feel at home. Mary exudes compassion, empathy and affinity for people. Beyond her psychotherapy practice, she remains engaged in the community, serving on the Board of a nonprofit and facilitating workshops to help businesses and organizations combat workplace trauma and work-life balance. I highly recommend Mary to anyone; she represents exactly what a therapist should be -- a listener, counselor and friend -- and will do her best to help anyone who crosses her path.
As a counseling practioner, I use discretion when selecting my own therapist and marriage counselor. Tina quickly picks up the pulse of each individual as well as the dynamic between them. Her incisive and insightful comments are offered judiciously. She maintains high standards of integrity viz. HIPAA. Her availability is flexible for working couples. She balances being a caring person and professional. I highly recommend her for couples and individual therapy based on my experience with her in both areas. S.
Alice is a very perceptive counselor who can zero in on what is relevant, and do it in a way that is not threatening or annoying even though the subjects are personally difficult. I would seek her assistance in the future.
Marriage counseling; very accommodating, felt very comfortable with her and she gave wonderful advice.
Marcela is an extremely caring, committed and empathetic professional. I always felt safe, secure and protected in working with her. She is an excellent listener and always took great care to respond to all my assignments with detailed commentary, suggestions and insights. She helped me to understand my behavior better and to give me the tools and clarity I need to deal with my challenges. She also went out of her way to follow up with me and keep in touch after the program ended to make sure I was keeping on track and meeting my goals. It was a real pleasure to work with someone as kind, nurturing and compassionate as Marcela and I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a skilled and caring counselor.
We have met with Marie 3 times and have come to a calmer place in our marriage. Marie is very attentive to our problems. Communication is key, and Marie stresses that, also not reacting with unresolved emotions is key to get to our happy place once again. We will continue with this very much experienced and educated counselor. Every time we leave the session we feel much lighter and focus on repairing our 26 year marriage. We highly recommend Marie Staubitzer!
Rosa is a dedicated, patient and caring professional. She is a punctual, organized, dependable and responsible employee. She can be strict and demanding of her clients yet respects a patient's individuality, independence and confidentiality. She appears as passionate about her job as a counselor and career in mental health as well as genuinely compassionate and supportive of her patients: their improvement and wellbeing. You will get on track with her and can rest assured you are in safe, good hands.
I have known of Blacklight for a while through my sister. I would read his posts on Facebook and ALWAYS be so inspired by them. I appreciated everything he would share with the world on inspired living. He also worked with my sister as a coach/counselor. My sister would share about how helpful he was in her life. Sharing tid bits of advice he would offer to her. Then I started looking for some help in my life, and realized that Blacklight would be a great match. Blacklight and I have been working together for about a year and a half. It has been life changing. When we started working together I swore I could not be an organized scheduled person. Now I live by planning my week, staying on track, and completing goals. Blacklight holds me accountable to my commitments, while inspiring and motivating to conquer the next frontiers of my dreams, and in my relationships. Blacklight is helpful on a practical front, with the how to organize your life front. But he is also a great ear for emotional/relationship work. He can set you up on working on your affirmations, finding your affirmations, working on how to properly communicate with your partner, definitely has some parenting advice to share, and is an all around ball of firey inspiration to my life!!! Everytime I get off the phone with him. If I feel like. "Ok, I can rock this life thing!!" Thank you Blacklight for choosing to be an inspiration to many, and more specifically thank you for helping me, motivating me, encouraging me, and listening listening and listening to me.

I am a mental health counselor in the offices of Dr. Michael DeMarco in NYC. In therapy, people learn to explore the feelings, beliefs, and it will help them achieve their goals and happiness. Therapy can help. I particularly enjoy helping with couples who are experiencing communication and intimacy problems in their relationship. Additionally, I like helping women who are going through major life transitions (starting a family, finishing college, job loss, divorce, children leaving home) and want to "re-invent" their lives or at least expand their ideas of who they are or who they want to become. Therapy is instrumental in helping navigate through some pretty challenging times, and I think it can help you too!
I provide counseling, consultation, empowerment and encouragement. I have many skill sets including a creative arts background in music, singing and acting. I also facilitate workshops and write scholastically and poetically.
