What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I/we charge an hourly rate of $20.00 per hour
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was working as a health care provider doing private home care. One of the women also working there had her own cleaning business and had me work with her a few times. After a year or so of cleaning with her part time, she wanted me to start my own business. She loved my work and would soon be retiring. She passed a few of her clients to me to get me started and I went from there.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients like that I do not only the basic cleaning, but, also, do the things they don't get to every weekend; like windows, window sills, baseboards and ceiling fans, just to name a few.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A regular client of mine bought a house in Sherrill and did a complete over-hauling construction project. The home had 5-6 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 living rooms, 2 dining areas, a massive kitchen with a small office area & 2 car garage, all of which had remodeling done in them and needed to be cleaned. We did everything from sweeping, vacuuming, mopping & re-mopping(to remove sheet rock dust), washed walls & windows, cleaned all the bathrooms & polished new fixtures and cleaned the garage. The entire project took us 3 days,...construction clean up is what seems to be never ending. When we finished, the home made front page of the Oneida Dispatch for being the oldest home in Sherrill. We had an overwhelming sense of pride to have taken part in such a project!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Always ask what the cleaner covers. As a cleaner, 'we' should always cover ALL the basic cleanings, plus any extras needed or asked of by the client! And, ALWAYS ask for referrences & check them! Word of mouth is honestly the best referrence anyone can get!
