Introduction: I teach beginner level classes (in Midtown Manhattan) of SALSA-ON-1(LA style, the best style for beginners) ,and absolute-beginner levels of ballroom dances (waltz, rumba, chacha, foxtrot) and other latin dances (bachata,merenge,).I have been doing this for the past over 12 years. I teach ONLY PRIVATE CLASSES, mostly in PAIRS/COUPLES, or if you have a READY GROUP OF YOUR OWN OF 4-18 PEOPLE. I simply LOVE teaching, and specialize in teaching absolute beginners/beginners and try to make them have fun while they are at it. I focus a lot on getting the basics right and work on the leading/following aspect of 'partner dancing' which often gets over-looked in group classes. I love that I have a chance to meet so many new people and get to be a small part of their world! :) Its amazing how many new friends I have made through these dance lessons...the best part ever! :)

Arati is an amazing teacher and truly passionate about dance. She is always in a great mood and excited to teach. My girlfriend and I got private salsa lessons and had a blast both times we went. My girlfriend danced all through highschool and I never danced in my life. She was able to teach at both levels. We also had a slight mishap trying to get to the city and she was very understanding and pushed the start time back so we would get the full time of the lesson. If you are looking for a dance instructor don't look any further! Arati is the best.

I selected to work with Arati after reviewing the profiles of at least 5 other salsa dance instructors and taking one intro class with one of them. I have a very hectic & stressful job that also requires a lot of overseas traveling . So I naturally opted for private one-on-one lessons. I made the right decision by selecting Arati. She is very professional, punctual , and most of all flexible & patient. I must admit that I would often go to the class quite stressed & distracted. But Arati would be so patient and sweet repeating those steps over and over again & injecting funny anecdotes explaining them. Having been to other dance studios, I prefer Arati’s choice because it gives you the privacy of private lessons. I would certainly recommend Arati for salsa beginners who have zero experience in salsa dancing.

We took private lessons with Arati to prepare for our wedding dance. We are so glad we found Arati and she has been an incredible teacher. We are absolute beginners and she went above and beyond to choreograph our dance so beautifully. Arati is very patient, yet energetic and fun. If you want to learn and enjoy dance, I highly recommend Arati.

My boyfriend and I had been wanting to take salsa lessons for a long time when we found Arati on Thumbtack. She made it really easy for us to finally see this goal of ours through! She was very flexible, and setting up a schedule for private lessons was easy. She's an awesome teacher - friendly, knowledgable and fun. She also designed the lessons to fit our interests in the dance, and after four private lessons, we had improved dramatically. I hope to take another class with her one day soon!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Each class is 55min long and is priced at $85 for 2 people.It includes the studio rental. There are packages of 4 (only for couples) classes : 4 classes - $320 (to be used within 6 weeks unless agreed upon in advance) All classes and packages are paid for in full in advance using Venmo/Paypal/ApplePay or cash. Upto 2 classes can be used at one time together if needed. There is a 36hour change/cancellation policy to avoid forfeiting the full fee amount for that class.
