I am a Manhattan based professional artist who specializes in large-scale impressionistic paintings of my travels, natural landscapes, and the sea. My collection of colorful abstract paintings is also sold throughout the United States. My mission is to create original works of art for your home, business or restaurant inspired by my drawings, photographs (enhanced in Photoshop), or your favorite images. Through client collaboration I develop original works of art that are valuable, memorable and totally unique.

Carolyn is an incredible artist who has taught my 6 year old more than I could believe he is capable of! She is extremely creative and uses various media in each project. He absolutely loves her and waits for her every week! Highly recommend Carolyn for any level of Art instruction!

We engaged Carolynne to give watercolor lessons to "B", my wife, who is on the dementia spectrum and, as such, can be difficult to deal with. I was incredibly impressed and grateful for Carolynne's kindness and patience and skill in interacting with B and just her overall bubbly personality. I was also much appreciative of Carolynne's willingness to work with me to choose appropriate projects for B and to prepare pencil sketches ahead of time so that B could then "color in" to create some lovely pieces.

Carolynne is knowledgeable, professional, and very skilled at teaching what she knows. She is very patient with my son and teaches him remarkable new techniques. She immediately established a positive rapport with my son, and in her first lesson, he produced some of his most detailed and sophisticated work. My husband and I can hardly believe the sorts of things he's painting now and he loves his time with her as he looks forward to it all week.

We were looking for an artist to teach our son. Other parents in the neighborhood highly recommended Carolynne because she not only created an amazing commissioned artwork for their home, but they also expressed how delighted they were with the warm connection and how their child responded to her unique art lessons. She is a very talented artist and art instructor with a strong background in elementary education. Each week she arrives with a new painting project and our son eagerly anticipates the class. Professional grade non-toxic materials / tools are used each time and our child responds with his devoted attention and desire to learn a new art lesson. The projects not only teach art history, they are all about the application of new techniques with the gentle guidance she gives. The result is amazing but even more important is that each lesson we see positive growth in his focus and self-esteem. We would highly recommend Carolynne to anyone that is looking for not only expert art instruction, but remarkable creativity, kindness and energy.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices for my paintings are based on the square footage of the final design plus materials, shipping, installation and travel as necessary.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Purchasing a work of art is a financial investment, but a highly personal venture reflecting your sense of aesthetics. I initiate the process of creating a unique and compelling work of art by becoming fully aware of my client's vision, what inspires them, their family or other patrons. My process begins with a dialogue regarding my client’s creative visualization, timeframe, supplied photographs or resources, estimated budget and important preferences. Next I produce a Photoshop representation with a clear plan detailing materials to be used, schedules and budget estimates. A contract is created and working drawings guide the final design. I oversee shipping, installation, and photography to complete the project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I began oil painting at 15 with a career of 20 years in art making. I have participated in numerous exhibitions locally and nationally and am represented in numerous individual and corporate collections. I studied painting at New York University, the Art Students League, and the National Academy of Art. I received a Masters Degree in Digital Imaging and Design and Fine Arts at New York University. I bring years of artistic experience and the expertise to manage the process of creating and installing great works of art for your home or business.
