Music is God’s gift to us that we can use to glorify Him. My name is Fernando and my goal for my students is to teach songs of worship from different styles (traditional, contemporary, etc.) so that they have the confidence to either play for their church or any other setting that they choose to worship in. I tailor my lessons around my student’s needs and their individual goals. I am patient and dedicated in bringing out the best in my student's playing and will work with them until they have accomplished their goals.
I am a graduate from the City College of New York with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. I have been playing acoustic/electric guitar for 16 years now and have experience performing guitar in different settings. I have 2 years of experience as a music teacher in the classroom as well as several years of giving private guitar lessons.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first question I ask is what are your goals with learning the guitar. Once I understand what your long term goals are, I set up smaller goals to help you achieve what you want to learn overall. It also helps to know what your musical interests are in regards to style, genres, and artists you listen to so that I can revolve the lessons around what you enjoy. I am patient with making sure you understand each musical concept and will dedicate myself to ensuring that you come out of each lesson learning something new.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am New York based guitarist who has been playing for 16 years. I received my Bachelors in Music at the City College of New York and I have a good understanding of music theory that I can apply to the guitar. I have also worked as a music teacher at Manhattan Christian Academy for a couple years which has given me much experience in preparing lessons for students.
