We are a NY based full service construction company. We are passionate about the work we do and strive to separate ourselves from other construction organizations.
What makes us difference is our approach to our craft:
- We subcontract as little of the work as possible and will only subcontract the specialized trades that require specific training and licensing.
- We perform extensive evaluations during our hiring practices with full background checks ran on every employee and a thorough training and onboarding process during every employees initial start. We do not hire unskilled labor or day laborers as all of our staff are registered employees recognized and insured by the State of New York.
- We are fully licensed and have one of the top licensing and safety registrations as can be issued by the City of New York.
- We carry extensive insurance that meet and exceed the requirements of even the strictest management companies in NYC.
- We pride ourselves on limiting the number of change orders issued and find that the majority of our change orders are customer requested due to a modification to the contracted scope of work.
- We perform extensive preparations for your project. We are respectful that this is your home and while construction is a messy process, we are as clean as possible during even the messiest phases such as demolition and plaster work.
- Every project is overseen by a dedicated project manager who will oversee a limited number of projects ensuring your project has the attention it deserves with daily reporting from the field staff to management as the project progresses.
We are fortunate to have an amazing team and we emphasize on finding staff who match our passion for exceptional finishes and construction work. Couldn't feel happier and luckier to have found Nikolas and his team to work on my new apartment (i.e. floor, paint, door installation, vanity replacement, etc.). I appreciated their responsiveness, professionalism, timeliness, constant communication and attention to detail. There were a few small changes during the project but the team did not hesitate to adapt the changes and happily fulfill my needs. Everything was efficiently done within timeline (i.e., 10 business days) and turned out exactly how I wanted my new home to be. Attached 1 photo from before and 3 photos from after. Overall, I highly recommend.

Working with Nikolas and the team at Streets and Avenues was amazing. My husband and I recently purchased a new home, a 7000 square foot townhouse in UWS but it needed a complete remodel of the 6 bedroom and 7 bathrooms. The original design was pretty dated and we definitely wanted something more modern with high end finishes. Streets and Avenues came recommended to us by a close friend who they built a custom home in Westchester for.
After meeting Nikolas, we knew he was our guy. Working with Nikolas and the team was stress-free. During the process, as to be expected, we ran into issues but we know this is construction and things will always happen. But what was amazing was that Nikolas always took responsibility and immediately rectified the issues. Overall, this has been the best experience we ever had with a contractor.
Nikolas was thorough, professional, and paid attention to the smallest detail. Even the team was professional and knew how to work together. I would recommend Nikolas and his staff to anyone who cares about working with detail orientated and reliable professionals. Thank you so much Nikolas!!

Very happy with work done by Nikolas! I was hesitant to hire a "handyman" but Nikolas was professional and explained everything he was doing. Great to have someone willing to come do work in the Bronx. Nikolas mounted my tv, hung mirrors, artwork. And a few lighting fixtures! My sister came by saw the work and she will be hiring Nikolas too!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My mission when building my company wasn't to be focused on pricing as that is a by-product of a job well done. I mention this because even though our rate for small projects is typically charged by an hourly rate, (large projects are charged a flat rate), if there is a moment where we believe the time we spent exceeded the average time it would normally take, we would sooner charge for the average time as compared to the time we spent working on it. We have and will always value customer service over pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My objective always begins with the customer first and foremost. I want to learn about your vision and what your goal is for our project. From there, I will continue to ask questions so I can better understand the task. From start to finish, I will communicate everything, every step of the way. I am a large advocate for proper communication.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to Fordham University and majored in Economics. I come from a family who was in real estate construction and development here in New York. I worked and trained there for many years prior to launching my own company. The same techniques and training that was acquired there, has served as the foundation for the work we do today. But, that training never truly ends. As our company grows, all of the individuals that become a part of team all work closely together so we are constantly improving our skillset.
