FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I’m the commercial art world, every project is unique and requires different aspects to be taken into account when quoting and figuring out rates. I have set rates for my paintings dependent upon size, and it’s important for my pricing to stay consistent. Because of this, I rarely offer discounts except to clients that I’ve already worked with in the past. However, there are ways to work with different budgets, which may mean simplifying the content of the work, or adjusting the size and scale to fit within a budget.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to start each project hearing the client’s ideas and seeing any inspiration or reference photos that they have collected. This allows me to understand what they like, what they’re looking for, and get into their mindset. This way I can produce something that I know they will love. I always create preliminary sketches to show to clients when working on a new project. This allows them to see my process and envision what the final product will look like so that there are no unpleasant surprises at the end.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my BFA from School of Visual Arts in New York City.
