FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Coaching is most effective when the client/coach relationship is consistent and frequent. Therefore I highly recommend taking advantage of the monthly rates to ensure commitment to both consistency and frequency, and because it's more cost effective too. Next level of pricing is a 12-pack of 60-minute sessions that can be scheduled at your convenience. And lastly, you can purchase by the hour. This is usually the least cost-effective; however, it's great if you have a particular short-term dilemma that you need to talk through.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As much as possible! I received my coaching certificate from NYU and I keep current on the classes they add so I can attend if it's relevant to my specialty. I also attend independent seminars and workshops whenever I can. And I'm always reading books, articles, etc where I can acquire new insight or expand on my skills. I am a member of Mensa, as well as the International Association of Professional Career Coaches.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Facing my own challenges is what led me to become a coach. I did not know what a life coach was when I needed one most so I ended up rebuilding my life through trial and error. The upside is that I learned a ton; the downside is I felt like I reinvented the wheel in some areas because I didn't have support. My past experiences coupled with my formal training ensures that my clients will have my full encouragement and expertise!
