I am a full-time Composer and Educator, available to teach Musical Composition, Music Theory, Musicianship, Music Fundamentals and Ear-Training.
I have a great passion for music and for music making. Teaching has provided me the greatest opportunity to employ what I have cultivated as a musician. I strive to shed light on complex musical concepts and terminology for those who find intellectual exploration a barrier against pursuing music as an academic discipline.
With careful instruction, I nurture and encourage critical thinking about music and aim to prepare musicians to face the incredible demands of today. I take the time to discover who my students are. I work to connect to their lives, to ascertain the music and musical experience that is a part of them. I aspire daily to teach with excellence and to guide students to effective strategies for learning. Practice and reflection have nourished my capacity to connect with students, to connect them with one another, and all of us to music. I believe these connections illuminate the path to learning.

My experience of studying with Christopher has been productive, thorough and engaging from the first lesson. Scheduling and interaction outside lessons has been consistently easy, quick and reliable. Christopher quickly created a directed, structured and personalized course of study pursuant to my objectives and ability level, and has provided a plethora of resources and materials to facilitate and compliment the instruction.

I began working with Chris around four years ago, as a freshman in college seeking a specific higher music education--I have been a musician my entire life, and desire education on a conservatory level, but do not actually want to attend conservatory. I have found that most music teachers of any kind have their specific way of teaching, usually a combination of traditionalism and their personal methodology. This doesn't work for everyone, and in my opinion, is often the reason why most kids don't stick with piano lessons. In my case, Chris and I had coincidentally similar experiences learning music--we both have strong ears that we could use to "cheat" as it were. I wanted to dig deeper into theory and find someone who understood how I heard and thought without judgment so that they could help me advance--Chris was exactly that person. We started ear training lessons regularly at my apartment and have not stopped since! He is such a pleasure to be around, extremely knowledgable without forcing anything on you, and extremely perceptive which makes him a fantastic personalized teacher. I am truly lucky to have met him, and would recommend him to any music student from a beginner to a seasoned pro looking to brush up and stay on their toes!

First impressions are everything and he sure caught me on right away! From the moment I got the call from Christopher to schedule an appointment, I was able to feel his genuineness and comfort as a teacher, and I was not wrong whatsoever.
When meeting him for the first time I felt at home and at true peace. I was able to understand everything in a very clear and precise way, (which is not something I'm used to with my passed piano teachers) and was such a breath of fresh air to experience!
He is always available to answer my calls with any questions or concerns I may have regarding anything when practicing at home.
He always gives me the confidence to feel that I will reach my ultimate goal which is so so exciting for me!
HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Christopher is definitely a professional teacher, the courser content is designed to correspond to personal needs, his teaching has put thoughts and consideration in order to give the efficient study results. He spot my weakness and help me improve. If you want to be a good musician definitely take his class.

I have been studying with Christopher for about a year. He has a lot of experience to share. A serious student would enjoy a positive atmosphere and his teaching methods will produce great and fast results with a fun learning environment. He is strict yet will make music fun for anyone. From working hard and studying with him I have been able to write music much better, more efficiently and creatively. 10 out 10 would recommend!!
