Piano Lessons - Matthieu Mazué

I am a pianist, composer, and educator, and I have been teaching piano for over ten years. I hold two Master’s degrees in Jazz — Piano and Composition — from the Bern University of the Arts (HKB), Switzerland. Drawing on my extensive experience as an internationally active performer, I help students develop their technical skills, musical ear, creativity, and artistic identity. I believe that musical growth comes from both a strong foundation and creative exploration. I therefore tailor my teaching to each student’s level, goals, and individual needs, fostering an atmosphere of openness, curiosity, and encouragement. Alongside my teaching career, I am an internationally recognized pianist and composer active on the contemporary jazz scene. Known for my innovative compositions, I have performed and collaborated with some of today’s leading jazz musicians, including Francisco Mela, Ralph Alessi, and Michaël Attias. In 2026, I was invited by the Swiss Jazz Orchestra as a guest composer and arranger, for which I wrote a new program of original arrangements for the ensemble. I also lead several ensembles, including my own trio, which has received multiple awards for its composition and performance, including the NOVA Jazz Composition Prize in 2021, the ZKB Jazz Preis in 2021, and the JazzBeet Competition in 2021.
