Words are powerless to express my gratitude for Priscilla and her work with my granddaughter. "A" is eight years old and has been diagnosed with ADHD. She is now starting her third 10-week term with Priscilla. The curriculum is providing her with the skills she needs to be not only a successful public speaker but also a confident, resilient life-long learner. She started these sessions with a serious lack of self-confidence. This was manifesting in her limited participation in class as well as a fear to try new things at school. Last year, she read so quietly when it came to oral reading that her teacher was unsure of her abilities. This led to "A's" participation in a reading class to provide extra support. I really believe Priscilla's ability to connect with "A" and create a tutoring relationship has played a major part in the third grader she has become. The milestones have been many. First, she readily participates in class--raising her hand to answer and ask questions. Secondly, she is developing so much more confidence in her reading ability and public speaking. In fact, she was visiting a fifth grade class recently and volunteered to take part in their Reader's Theater production during that visit. With no practice, in front of the entire class, she plunged right in. She is also participating in the school's Odyssey of the Mind program. She has volunteered for a speaking part in her team's project. Priscilla has excellent organizational skills. At the same time, she is flexible with the use of class time. She adjusts classwork seamlessly to accommodate "A's" needs and interests. Her kindness, empathy and patience have fostered much trust between these two. It feels so good to have another adult in "A's" life who cares and nurtures her in every way at every session. I highly recommend this curriculum and Priscilla as the nurturing guide to take your child through these lessons. I think this program provides an excellent opportunity for children to learn, grow academically and become excited, knowledgeable, and confident public speakers and life-long learners. I am so grateful we found this program and Priscilla!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer private & group lessons. My private lessons start at $60/half hour and $100/hour. Students who sign up for lesson plans & packages receive further discounts. I am always happy to be very flexible around hours, last minute cancellations or illness, etc. I understand that life gets busy and sometimes unexpected things happen! To make it easier for parents, students & busy people, I always honor every lesson on all of my plans & packages, regardless of any scheduling changes along the way :)
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love doing a free introductory lesson to get to know new students and to give them a chance to get to know me! We discuss your goals and you can ask me any questions you might have. I also use this time to run students through the different techniques I incorporate into lessons- some of them are really fun!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching public speaking to school aged students & adults for 10 years now! I have multiple Public Speaking & Teaching Degrees from the Australian Speech & Communication Association and last year at their 50th Anniversary Ceremony I was their keynote speaker. I also graduated from the University of Sydney with a 1st Class Honours degree in the faculty of Veterinary Science and I have worked with animals & people in various producing and television roles in California, New York, Virginia, Florida and internationally in Australia, the Maldives & France.
