I set up the lesson for my husband’s birthday as a gift because he never had voice lessons before. He really enjoyed the personalized lesson. He was helped to really look deeper than just the surface with the song that they were singing I would highly recommend Mr. Linhares.

I truly enjoyed having singing lessons with Manuel for over 2 years. First, the structure of the lessons was very appropriate. As we would warm up, we already started working on my listening capabilities, but also on the biggest challenges I faced with my voice. Thus, the first minutes of the lessons were already totally adjusted to my specific qualities as a singer. We would go on and work on further difficulties with dedicated exercises that Manel would come up with. We would then work on chosen a theme, analyzing not only the melody and harmony, but also the lyrics and how to interpret the text when singing. The most challenging, but rewarding part of Manuel's lessons, was when we would improvise either on the theme we were working on, or literally at random (but with some structure). Improvising with Manuel was such a great way to put my voice to work, and was super fun! Overall, had a magnificent experience delevoping and growing with Manuel. Thank you!

I had the pleasure of taking voice lessons with Manuel Linhares, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. As a beginner student, I valued the different vocal exercises followed by his insightful feedback and encouragement while fostering musicality and expression. I was always eager for each lesson, both online (during lockdowns) and in-person since I also felt my knowledge of jazz music and the underlying culture growing.
Manuel Linhares introduced me to various scatting techniques, helping me develop my creativity with his ability to break down complex rhythms into manageable components, making it easier for beginners like myself to grasp. Also, I loved the exercises that he usually provided me to practice at home since I felt they were tailored to my skill level and goals.
