After the first lesson with Mara I already see ways that I'll be able to bring my singing to the next level. She's friendly, professional, and fun! I'd definitely suggest her to other people looking for vocal coaching.Mar 25, 2019Verified
My daughter is very shy but Mara has a special way with children. She was singing 5 minutes into the lesson. Id recommend Mara to anyone!Apr 4, 2017Verified
Mara is an incredible instructor. My voice lessons have been so comfortable and non judgemental, especially considering how awkward learning to sing can be early on. My voice was improving significantly after just a few lessons.Mar 31, 2015Verified
Singing Lessons (for adults)
I took voice lessons with Mara for about a year and only stopped because my work schedule was making it difficult to meet regularly. I can't rave enough about her patience, outgoing personality, and knowledge. She had this way of making me comfortable from day one, which speaks volumes since I had a bad experiencing singing in front of others as a child. I could not recommend Mara enough as a voice teacher--she makes lessons something you look forward to each and every week! I wouldn't take lessons with anyone else.Mar 4, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Standard lesson pricing is $50 per 30 minute lesson, $60 per 45 minute lesson, or $80 per 1 hour lesson. Payment is accepted by cash or Venmo. Multiple location options are available.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to take a few minutes to chat with new students to learn more about them and their vocal goals, as well as any prior training/musical experience. Then we will get straight to work! Lessons are highly tailored to each individual based on their level and needs, but the general structure consists of a quick stretch, followed by breathing exercises, a solid vocal warm-up and technical exercises, ear training, and work on songs and building repertoire. All styles of music are welcome.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I hold a Bachelor of Music degree in Professional Music: Vocal Performance (summa cum laude) from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and am a graduate of the One Year Acting Conservatory at T. Schreiber Studio for Film & Theatre in NYC. I continue to take voice lessons privately and am a member of the Actors' Equity Association.
