Introduction: My name is Ona, and I’m a musical theater performer and voice teacher. I’d love to help you get started on your singing and/or acting career! I’ve had my fair share of vocal coaches making me question my ability as a singer. Am I good enough? Will I ever be good enough? You only need one class with Ona to know that she’s not that type of voice teacher. Ona is kind, supportive, patient, knowledgeable, funny, talented, and most of all, you can tell how passionate she is not only in singing but also in helping her students. I’ve never felt so comfortable and been pushed, in a good way, so much before. Her exercises are not only unique and fun but also surprisingly easy, and you will be shocked by how one small tool or technique that she makes you try can help you! I’ve always worried that if pushed to reach high notes or to belt as loud as I could, I would strain myself or ruin my voice. However, with Ona, I’ve been able to sing with such ease that I didn’t even know I was capable of doing. She also texts you exercises and examples to help you practice throughout the week, which shows how on top of everything she is! She is very communicative and flexible with your schedule, I can’t tell you how many times I had to either cancel or reschedule a lesson, and she accommodated me with so much consideration. I could honestly go on and on praising her, but you just have to take a class with her to really understand what a wonderful teacher and person Ona is.

Ona was the first person I've ever taken singing lessons from. It was a good experience. She was able to determine where I was and what we need to work on. Unfortunately, I only took a few lessons with her, due to getting busy with work.

Each lesson helped me grow more and more. Some things I haven’t attempted to sing in a long time sounded so much better after her lessons. She’s very friendly and patient.

My name is Bo and I was interested in finding a vocal coach. I’ve played guitar for 6 years and have always wanted to be able to sing great while playing guitar. I have just started vocal lessons with Ona, but in the first lesson I am already very impressed. I received exactly what I was looking for. She was very educated, helpful, patient, and explains the material very well. If you’re looking for a great vocal coach that caters to your specific needs and interests, then Ona is the one for you!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have a cancellation policy of 48h in advance, if not respected there’s a full lesson fee or we can reschedule for the same week. ALL missed lessons will be charges as a full lesson unless rescheduled before the class.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

VOICE LESSONS: On our first session together we will establish your vocal level, your vocal range, singing goals and a plan to accomplish those goals. ACTING LESSONS: On our first session together we will establish acting goals, and we will dive into Meisner (repetitions, cold reads, etcetera), then I will assign you a monologue to work on.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

VOICE LESSONS: I have been singing for 15 years. I started in choir and went on to get my singing education and to do musical theater. I am a semi-finalist of the 2020 edition of “So You Think You Can Belt”. I have been teaching voice for 3 years. ACTING LESSONS: I have been acting for 17 years. I started performing in plays when I was a kid and have gone on to perform, write, and produce my own play (Reunited with a Stranger) in NYC and perform with my sketch team Rococo every month in NYC. I am trained in Meisner from Matthew Corozine Studios and in Improv from Magnet Theater.
