Singing Lessons

Lessons with Annie began my journey into discovering my own artistry, technically correct singing styles, and confidence to find my voice. Annie is professional and engaged in lessons. Time is used efficiently and lessons are tailored to individual student needs to maximize vocal skill-set. In between lessons, I am challenged and progress into new goals as my vocal range and voice control improve and you really start to have so much fun singing with confidence! Annie is also just a good person and funny, so I’ve only left lessons feeling in a better mood. If you are curious where music can take you, lessons with Annie can be a good start!
The Vocal Lab | Voice + Acting's reply
Hi Sarena, Thank you so much for sharing your story on our page! It's been such a pleasure working with you, and witnessing your voice and artistry grow. I'm so happy to hear our lessons have helped you improve vocally and artistically, AND that you leave the lessons feeling happier. It's also a goal of mine to make my students laugh ;) Laughter opens up the soul and the body, after all. Can't wait to see you soon! Annie

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

All lessons are currently taught via Zoom! - Introductory 45 minute lesson: $45 (promotional rate) - Half hour lesson: $45 - 45 minute lesson: $65 - One hour lesson: $80

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We put a strong emphasis on fostering a sincere relationship with all of our students as both artists and individuals. We offer a 20 minute Zoom consultation to discuss your needs and give you an overview of our practice. Prospective students are encouraged to prepare any questions they may have to discuss with their potential instructor. We want all of our students to feel as though they've found the right teacher to meet their needs. If, based on the consultation, it seems like the right student/teacher match, you may schedule a 45 minute introductory lesson from there. During the introductory lesson, your instructor will assess your needs to begin developing a curriculum tailored specifically to you. We have a database of resources for our students to access and utilize, should your instructor feel you might benefit from this. You will be asked to prepare a piece you feel comfortable with and enjoy singing. Your instructor will assign exercises to address specific technical issues, and discuss your artistic goals. It is important to us that our students feel comfortable and free to experiment with sound, as we experiment A LOT! It is also crucial that our students understand why we choose to assign specific technical exercises, as our curriculum is cumulative and intentional.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

All of our teachers possess at minimum a bachelor's and/or master's degree and at least 5 years of teaching experience. Faculty has attended the following conservatories: Berklee College of Music Westminster Choir College Shenandoah University Brandeis University
