I offer SAT and math subject courses.
I do brush up on math course work or prepare for an upcoming SAT or other college entrance exam. I offer individual lessons on an hourly basis.
The methods I use are as follows:
* For students who seek help with their current math subjects, I begin by reviewing past tests and homework, assessing strengths, weaknesses, and areas that need concentration, and then use sessions to help strengthen new skills and review homework.
* For SAT students, I provide diagnostic assessments, teach content as well as test-taking strategies, and give periodic practice tests in order to gauge progress and familiarize the student with the testing environment.
My qualifications include the following:
- BS in Mathematics and Psychology from Duke University, May 2009
- MA in Psychology with a concentration in Statistics from The City University of New York
- 7 years of tutoring experience
My tutoring experience includes the following:
- Elementary and middle school math
- Pre-algebra, Algebra 1 and 2, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus
- SAT math, verbal, and writing
- Designed and taught an accelerated Algebra 2 summer course
My individual hourly rate is $80.
