Students not only write the college and university applications on their own. They take with them the skills to write and edit various kinds of writing they need and want to compose over their entire lifetimes. They come away with an enduring skill and confidence in that skill.
I value not only knowing that students gain acceptance in the colleges and universities that they choose to apply to but also that they feel pleased at what they learn about themselves and their lives as they work with me, that they rejoice in their confidence as writers composing and making significant writing decisions on their own.
