Introduction: Hi, there!
I'm Kelsey Hand, and I'm a recent Barnard College graduate. I have been called and unpretentiously call myself a wordsmith.
Writing allows me to capture the thoughts flying through my mind and meticulously and preciously mold their meanings.
I write, so I can understand myself better, and as a result, I am better able to understand the world around me.
I write because sometimes the words I casually spew out in informal conversations just don't have enough time to marinate and absorb the flavor I know they could impart.
Mostly, I write because my voice is unabashedly me -- honest and warm and a little tongue-in-cheek.
As a writing tutor or creative content consultant, I would love to help you find your voice or maybe just learn to listen to it a little better.

As a former coworker of Kelsey's at the Barnard Babysitting Agency, a student-run business that she and I managed together, I was continually impressed by Kelsey's ability to manage every aspect of the business with complete competence and professionalism. Her interactions with coworkers and clients are always a pleasure for all parties involved. Kelsey was particularly adept at handling annual reports and conducting informal analyses of our agency's performance, which she cogently and eloquently expressed in written reports. As a student with her at Barnard College, I've also had the pleasure of reading her academic writing, including her senior thesis. While her end products are consistently excellent, it is her precise and careful attention to the process of achieving those final products (from research and note-taking to planning and executing) that is truly outstanding. Kelseys creative writing consultancy was a Godsend. I consider myself to be a relatively adept writer, but I can say without a shred of doubt that my writing improved significantly through Kelseys tutoring. As a classmate at Barnard College, Kelsey was a tremendous help in editing my essays for assignments both large and small. Not only did Kelsey find minor spelling/grammar errors, she also made intelligent suggestions regarding the content of my essay as well as the structure of my essay.
